IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CHRIST

In the morning, we will depart Tel Aviv and drive to the city of Nazareth. The story of Nazareth can be told from different angles - Christian Heritage, Muslim Majority in a Jewish State. We will stop at the Basilica of Annunciation, the largest church in the Middle East, and Mary’s Well- the site of Mary’s Annunciation. We will conclude our visit to Nazareth with a magnificent outlook over the city from Mt. Precipice, a site described in the Gospel of Luke as the place where the local Jewish community of Nazareth rejected Jesus.

From there, we will drive to the Sea of Galilee and stop for lunch along the way. We will visit the newly discovered synagogue of Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene, a place offering clues about Judeo-Christian worship from the time of Jesus. From there we will drive to the Northern part of the Sea of Galilee to visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, where the verses of the Sermon on the Mount were spoken. We will then continue to Tabgha, the site of Peter’s Primacy, the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish and the Calling of the Disciples, and finally to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ movement and his home during his Central Galilean Ministry. We will then return to Tel Aviv at the end of the day.
