"Without question, Assaf Boker is the most affable, erudite, knowledgeable, fun, resourceful and helpful we have experienced."

My spouse and I are fortunate to travel often, and we have employed many guides. Without question, Assaf Boker is the most affable, erudite, knowledgeable, fun, resourceful and helpful we have experienced. Assaf guided us for two days in Jerusalem and one in Tel Aviv (including an amazing tasting tour of the Carmel Market thatbis a must-do), and his knowledge of the landscape, history, cuisine, and complex cultural politics of the region is quite extraordinary. He is customer-focused, thinks ahead, and is full of enthusiasm for his profession. Absolutely delightful and worth the cost. We recommend him both with enthusiasm and without qualification.

"Assaf was incredibly responsive and accessible throughout the process, both when we were planning the trip from the U.S. and when we were in Israel, where he checked-in with us after we landed and throughout our time traveling."

Assaf (Boker Tours) arranged four wonderful days of touring in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and the Dead Sea/Masada/Ein Gedi for our family of four (boys aged 13 and 10). We had an amazing experience working with Assaf from start to finish. In preparation for our trip, Assaf learned all about our family’s interests and put together an excellent customized itinerary for us. Assaf then matched us with a phenomenal guide, Amir, who was a perfect fit for our family. We had an amazing four days of touring with Amir, having tons of fun and learning a lot. Assaf was incredibly responsive and accessible throughout the process, both when we were planning the trip from the U.S. and when we were in Israel, where he checked-in with us after we landed and throughout our time traveling. He also gave us great restaurant recommendations and practical tips. We enthusiastically recommend working with Assaf to anyone who is planning a trip to Israel. Thank you Assaf - we will have great memories of this trip forever!

"choosing Assaf to guide us was the best decision we made in planning the trip"

We just got back from an amazing family trip to Israel, and choosing Assaf to guide us was the best decision we made in planning the trip. All the glowing online reviews? Believe them. We’ve traveled all over the world, and I can say with confidence that Assaf was the best guide we have ever had. This was our first visit to Israel; our main goal for the trip was to more deeply connect with the roots of our Catholic faith, but we also wanted to gain a better understanding of the rich history of this land and peoples, and of the longstanding conflicts that have beset the region. Food was also an important focus for us. And Assaf delivered on all counts. The trip was everything we hoped it would be — eye-opening, spirit-lifting, thought-provoking, and palate-pleasing. Over five days we explored the country from the Golan Heights in the north to the Dead Sea in the south, and driving around with Assaf was like being shown around by a friend – a brilliant, articulate, thoughtful, funny friend. Everywhere we went Assaf provided historical and sociopolitical context for sites we were visiting, highlighting recurrent themes and tying together things we had learned at other sites. He is a lively, passionate, engaging storyteller, and his narrative was supplemented by personal anecdotes, scripture, humor, and even music. He was always ready with thoughtful, frank answers to our many, many questions. And at holy sites he gave us time and space to reflect and pray on our own. We really appreciated that he arranged for us to spend an afternoon in Bethlehem with a Palestinian guide he works with, Noor, who brought us to the Church of the Nativity and also the security wall, and gave us valuable perspective from one living on the other side of the wall. On the practical side, Assaf made the planning of the trip very easy; he was great at communicating via email, and helped us craft an itinerary that covered everything we wanted to see. During the trip he was always professional and punctual, and was flexible in adjusting the itinerary if we had special requests that came up. We were very happy with his hotel and restaurant recommendations, and the Jerusalem market tour we took with him was a sumptuous and memorable way to cap a special journey through a fascinating country, led by a remarkable guide.

"Assaf COMPLETELY changed my perspective and I wish there were guides like him in every country that I could hire. "

My mom and I had a private, 6 day tour with Assaf. Let me first say that we were a difficult pair to guide. My mom wanted to go deep into history and all of the religious aspects of the region, and I wanted to focus on local culture and food. I did a ton of research and spoke with various guides before deciding to hire Assaf. I was hesitant at first to hire a guide because I don't like tours at all and find them to be generic, boring, touristy experiences. When it comes to travel, the joy of it is exploring, researching and spontaneously discovering new people and places. Assaf COMPLETELY changed my perspective and I wish there were guides like him in every country that I could hire. My mom and I had a vacation of a lifetime and learned so much from the wealth of knowledge and network that Assaf has. Throughout the tour, we ran into other guides, who repeatedly told us that, wow, you two are lucky, you have the best guide in the country. It's true.

"Our guide was Assaf Boker and, having travelled extensively, I can state that he is the best we have ever had"

Our visit to Israel was life changing. To walk on the same ground that we have read about our entire lives was both spiritually and intellectually exciting. Our guide was Assaf Boker and, having travelled extensively, I can state that he is the best we have ever had. Knowledgeable, informed, patient, thoughtful, considerate, I could go on and on. Assaf has a deep pride in his homeland, and his love for his country ... all of it ... shows. We discussed Jewish history, Christian history, and the current modern geopolitical situation. We left with a much better understanding of a historical and complex culture, and our guide was essential to our experience. We highly recommend Boker Tours. From the VIP treatment when we landed at Ben-Gurion, to the hotels, choice of restaurants, historical commentary, political discussions, airport transfers, and itinerary we were made to feel like family. Just making the arrangements was simple and professional. For us this was a trip of a lifetime, and we can say that if you want to entrust your special experience to anyone, you can rest assured that Assaf Boker is your guy. We don’t have enough good words ...

"Assaf’s genuine in-depth knowledge of his industry and the local area. "

I was looking for a personal tailored tour to certain sites in Israel and was lucky enough to research Assaf and his service offering. What an absolute lucky find. A treat for three of us to see some major sites around Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. Assaf listened to what we wanted and custom fit an excellent few days for us... navigating some choice options around Shabbat and even a few weather concerns which left us with an excellent personal experience - with the least people-traffic and in some cases, we were literally the only people there! Was it luck...? No... I think it was Assaf’s genuine in-depth knowledge of his industry and the local area. During some of the longer road journeys, Assaf regaled us with local stories and history - giving us a genuinely unique understanding that only someone with decades of passion and understanding of Israeli would know. I could not recommend Assaf enough - if you’re thinking of a tour of Israel, Assaf’s your man!

"The tightrope act between historical narrative, political discussion and entertainment of the children was always elegantly done by Assaf"

For our 8 days holidays in Israel we booked two tours with Assaf Boker Tours. This mainly because of the exclusively excellent ratings. I was wondering if it is possible that from over 500 reviews all are excellent. To be honest - TripAdvisor should introduce a sixth star. Already in the run-up everything went perfectly, this means communication and payment. Unfortunately Assaf could not participate in our first tour. But he was perfectly represented by his colleague Menahem. Who can say that a university professor serves you as a tour guide? Menahem picked us up punctually in Tel Aviv and took us to Ein Gedi, Masada and the Dead Sea. It was an unforgettable trip with many impressions, first hand information and a tour guide who also included our two children (10 and 13) at all times and therefore never got bored. On the second day Assaf drove us personally to Jerusalem. He also managed to put all 4 of us under the spell of the city from the beginning. The tightrope act between historical narrative, political discussion and entertainment of the children was always elegantly done by Assaf. Assaf also took us to places that are not exactly on the normal route. We also enjoyed the local food very much. Even though the tour is not cheap, it is worth every penny! We wish to thank Menahem and Assaf with all our heart for these two unforgettable days. Assaf Boker is not number 1 on TripAdvisor for nothing. We recommend Assaf Boker without hesitation.

"If you are fortunate enough to be travelling to Israel, do yourself a most important favor and use Assaf Boker to guide you! "

If you are fortunate enough to be travelling to Israel, do yourself a most important favor and use Assaf Boker to guide you! We had the absolute best time with him...we booked him for two days and were lucky enough to secure him for a third. Our first day we took a deep dive into Old Jerusalem, including a couple of incredibly delicious stops for lunch and dessert, at places we never would have found (or have been brave enough to try) on our own. Everywhere we went, people stopped to say hello to him! He knows so many of the shop keepers and restaurant owners, which adds to this amazing experience of touring with Assaf. The next day we toured Masada (he even stopped along the way so my husband and I could take a quick camel ride (trust me, you only want to be on a camel for 10 minutes...crazy fun but a very 'bumpy' ride!), then we were off to the Dead Sea, where Assaf was so kind as to wade in with us to take some once-in-a-lifetime photographs. Our third day with Assaf was a tour of Old Jaffa and a true foodie tour of the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv...he took us to the most fun spots in the market with the absolute best freshly made (before our eyes!) Israeli, North African and Druze food samplings (yes, we ate a LOT...but still managed Turkish coffee and fresh fruit yogurt for dessert.) He also took us through the Yitzak Rabin Museum...another must see when in Tel Aviv, and so much more powerful with Assaf along with his in-depth commentary. He also arranged VIP airport service for us in and out of Tel Aviv, which was an extraordinarily wonderful and time-saving experience. The security line when we were leaving Tel Aviv looked to be well over 2 hours long (and that was at 2 AM for our 4:15 AM flight), but we breezed through a special VIP area in minutes!! Assaf is someone we plan on keeping in touch with over the years. He is a true Israeli National Treasure!
